What's New at North Point Shopping Centre's Market Place

Value for money has never been so important and with prices on the high street rising, it's good to know that there are still places where you can truly bag a bargain. North Point Shopping Centre is famed for its low prices and friendly atmosphere but it's the unique covered market which offers real charm and real bargains to the people of Bransholme and the surrounding area.

The Market Place offers a traditional shopping experience where shoppers can soak up the hustle and bustle of this vibrant covered market. The markets 30 stalls offer everything you need to fill your shopping bags from delicious local fruit, vegetables and meat to discount clothing and household goods. It's the stall holders who really make this market a vibrant place to shop though.

Many of the stall holders have been trading at North Point since the shopping centre opened in 1973 and their businesses have grown and expanded along with the Centre. With so many stall holders having such deep roots at the market, this shared history brings a real sense of community and tradition to the whole of North Point.

Even a recession can't stop the growth of the covered market as people go back to basics and look to bag a bargain at the market. There are plans in place to relocate the market within the Centre and Centre Manager Alan Kane predicts that the expansion of North Point will increase weekly visitors from 140,000 to 200,000. With exciting new developments underway, stall holders are looking forward to future growth at North Point and the local area.

Market trader Darren Wenn who runs the popular children's clothing stall, Kidzone said, "It's great being part of the Market Place at North Point. There is such a good atmosphere here and it offers good business. Hopefully North Point will continue to grow and the new market will help." Fellow trader Lewis Yates of North Point Pets agrees, "There are some great bargains to be had and we have new stalls opening all the time. I think once the new market is developed, it will be the best in the city."

New stalls which have recently joined the Market Place include Hessle Studios Portrait Photographers and Suzie's Fashion Accessories, adding to the already extensive range of services and stalls available at the market.
