North Point in the Community
North Point Shopping Centre is the focus of the Bransholme community and offers much more than just great shopping. Bransholme estate is larger than many towns (over 30,000 people live here) and for that reason North Point Shopping Centre plays a vital role in offering the community a focal point. North Point Shopping Centre and the surrounding shops and services have developed into a town centre for the estate. This means people who live in the area can avoid the hassle and expense of a trip to Hull city centre. The Centre has been part of the community since 1973 and the Centre and surrounding services continue to expand and develop to meet the needs of local people.
North Point's aim is to remain an integral part of the community and provide all the benefits of a town centre, right in the heart of the Bransholme estate.
The well-established Health Centre is a few steps away from the Shopping Centre. The Health Centre originally opened over 30 years ago but was extended three years ago and now has a dentistry service, midwifery service and a minor injuries unit as well as traditional GP clinics. The Health Centre offers a number of great services including free NHS Stop Smoking Support Service and family planning clinics.
Sutton Methodist Church is right next to North Point’s car park and has regular morning and evening services. There are plenty of activities for young people to get involved in such as craft workshops and Scouts. Parents and younger children can also enjoy baby and toddlers meetings and morning and afternoon sessions of pre-school fun.
Bransholme Library is just outside North Point Shopping Centre and is open six days a week. As well as books, the library also offers Internet facilities and full access for pushchairs and wheelchair users.
There is a Co-operative Funeral Care Home next to the Centre which provides full funeral service and rest home facilities. There is also a local police station with a team of Neighbourhood Police Officers, Police Community Support Officers, Incident Response Staff and Special Constables.
At North Point Shopping Centre we invest in the local community and hold regular activity sessions for young people. We recently held a successful ‘Play Rangers’ event in the half term holidays where 5 – 14 year olds were invited to come down to the Centre and take part in fun play sessions.
We believe in doing our part to help protect the environment and we recycle all the cardboard which is used by the outlets. We pride ourselves on the cleanliness of the Shopping Centre so you can shop in a clean and safe environment.
Next time you do your shopping at North Point, don't forget to visit the great local facilities which are right on your doorstep.
